🧈 1. Cream the Butter and Sugars

In a large bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).

🍳 2. Add Wet Ingredients

Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

🌾 3. Mix Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture until just combined (don’t overmix!).

🍫 4. Add Chocolate Chips

Stir in the chocolate chips (and nuts, if using).

🧤 5. Chill (Optional but Recommended)

For thicker, chewier cookies, chill the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

🔥 6. Bake

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough and place 2 inches apart.
  4. Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden brown but centers still look slightly soft.
  5. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
